Manashi Gautam Honored with NPR 40,000 Award for Outstanding SEE Results

Kathmandu — Awareness International Academy (AIA), an English boarding secondary school located in Shankhamul, Kathmandu, has honored Manashi Gautam with a cash prize of NPR 40,000 and a certificate of appreciation for securing the highest GPA in the 2081 Secondary Education Examination (SEE) among the school’s students. The award was presented during a special program held on Friday. Former Bagmati Province MP and parent Ganesh Dulal was the chief guest.

According to the school’s principal, Bishnu Prasad Aryal, the annual “Prasiddha Kandel Memorial SEE Excellence Award” of NPR 20,000 was supplemented this year by an additional NPR 20,000 “AIA Encouragement Award” provided by the school itself, bringing the total to NPR 40,000. Dr. Chetanath Kandel, the academic director and founder of the award, stated that the Prasiddha Kandel Award has been presented consistently for the past seven years.

The event, chaired by school president Hari Prasad Gyawali, was attended by around 350 people, including 67 SEE graduates and their guardians, invited guests, teachers, staff, and current Grade 10 students. A musical performance by Grade 10 students added a lively cultural touch to the celebration. All SEE graduates were honored with certificates and parting gifts.

“This year, all 67 students passed the SEE with commendable results, and 49 of them (73.1%) achieved a GPA above 3.6, earning an A+. This positions AIA as one of the top-performing schools in Nepal,” said Principal Aryal during his speech.

The program was emceed by AIA founder and vice principal Khageshwar Giri, with congratulatory speeches delivered by Chief Guest Dulal, Chairman Gyawali, Principal Aryal, Managing Director Bimal Ghimire, and others. Manashi Gautam and student representative Sadhana Shrestha also spoke on behalf of the students.

The evening event, hosted at Anmol Banquet, was managed with the active involvement of Executive Director Shailendra Kumar Jha, Academic Director Krishna Prasad Gaire, and other staff members.

Founded in 2063 BS, AIA has seen over 900 students graduate through SLC/SEE to date. The late Prasiddha Kandel, after whom the award is named, was the school’s top SEE performer in 2067 BS. He passed away unexpectedly in 2074 while pursuing higher education in the U.S., according to his mother and award founder Sita Bhandari Kandel.

The 16th annual “AIA SEE Honor Program 2082” celebrated Manashi Gautam’s top GPA of 3.95 and the average GPA of 3.67 among all graduates. Chief Guest Dulal concluded, “Seeing the continued progress of AIA makes us parents and well-wishers proud.”
